WHY ARE WOMEN DISCRIMINATED AT WORK? SOME EMPLOYERS “CLAIM” THE FOLLOWING REASONS

Much of the discrimination that women experience takes place in the workplace. Most employers consider that you are a woman in hiring, firing, or promoting you or in deciding how much you get paid.
Pregnancy discrimination: Since only women become pregnant, you cannot be forced to leave your job because you are pregnant if you can still do the work. You are also entitled, if you can still do the work, to the same sick pay or disability that any other employee would be paid for any other medical absence.

Disability: A disability (physical or mental) that does not affect your job performance may not be used against you.

Family leave: women are often called to take care of their ill children.

AIDS: AIDS and some other contagious diseases are considered disabilities.

  1. Again women are treated differently compared to men when relating to getting the same job or even a position in a company. Many people think that by being a little more fragile, they are unable to do any kind of work and even heavier.
Well there is something that we have to reflect about, it is proven that women can do several tasks at the same time when working, also caring for children and house holding, something that most men cannot do or are not concerned to do.
